No Fun Collective

No Fun Collective

The art and research collective No Fun was founded in 2021. The collective’s current members are Markéta Soukupová, Alex Petrova, Ondřej Trhoň, Andrea Hubert, and Maxine Vajt, but it also functions as a modular and open unit with various levels of involvement by different people from a variety of disciplines. The No Fun Collective’s work explores queer subversive strategies of video games in the context of Central and Eastern Europe. Through a theoretically informed and artistically and politically concise perspective, they reflect on cis heteronormative perspectives and seek effective strategies for disrupting them in collaboration with the queer community. Their artistic and curatorial interventions, exhibitions, lectures, and community events support not only the creation of games but also the building of safe spaces and the formation of a queer and trans community.

The No Fun Collective has exhibited their work at the Jelení Gallery, Gallery Hraničář, MeetFactory, and etc. gallery. In 2023 their games were presented at the Czech Center in Tokyo as part of the curated section of queer games in the exhibition Czech Game Show in Tokyo.
